Almost certainly yes. A dead TV is usually a power-supply (PSU) board fault — typically blown capacitors or a failed mosfet. One of the most common same-day repairs we do, with parts in stock for major brands. Standby light flashing? Also typically a board-level fix.

It's a fault code. Different brands flash different patterns — for example Samsung TVs commonly flash 5 times for a backlight fault and 3 times for a mainboard fault. Our technicians decode these patterns to identify the failed component before quoting.

Vertical or horizontal lines are almost always a T-CON board, panel-driver IC or LVDS cable fault. We diagnose with a pattern generator before quoting. In most cases this is an affordable board-level repair.

Washed-out colours, pink or green tints, or missing primary colours usually mean a panel-driver IC fault. Sometimes a factory reset clears it; sometimes a board-level repair is needed. We diagnose first.

A half-dark screen is almost always a failed backlight strip. Backlight strips fail after a few years of use, especially on LED TVs. Strips are replaced on our workbench — an affordable bench-level repair.

Almost always one of three causes: failed speaker drivers, blown audio amplifier ICs, or an HDMI ARC handshake fault. We test the speakers directly and probe the audio amplifier output to confirm the exact fault. See TV sound issues for details.

Crackling is typically a failing speaker driver, blown capacitor on the audio rail, or dry solder joints on the amplifier circuit. Distortion at higher volumes points to a stressed amplifier IC. Both are bench-level repairs.

Yes. Wi-Fi faults on Smart TVs are usually one of three things: corrupted firmware (a reflash fixes it), a failed Wi-Fi module (replacement on the mainboard), or a router/configuration issue (we sort the settings on the spot).

App crashes are usually a firmware or storage issue. We clear cache, reinstall the app, and if needed perform a factory reset or firmware reflash. The TV almost always comes back to life. No charge if we can't fix it.

Stuck-on-logo ("boot loop") is a corrupted firmware problem. We reflash the firmware through the service port — which recovers most TVs that look completely bricked. Same-day repair in most cases.

HDMI ARC handshake faults are very common. Causes range from firmware on the TV, CEC settings, the soundbar itself, or hardware on the TV's HDMI board. We diagnose all of them — usually fixed without parts.

Both can fail. We test the remote with a phone camera (IR LED shows up on camera) and test the TV's IR sensor with a known-good remote. Whichever side has failed, we fix or replace.

Honestly, no. Modern TVs run on lethal mains voltages, and high-voltage capacitors on power-supply boards can hold dangerous charge even when unplugged. The cost of a professional repair is usually a fraction of the cost of a new TV — or a hospital visit.
