TV No Sound Repairs
TV with picture but no sound is usually an internal-amplifier, speaker, or audio-output fault. Sometimes it is a settings issue — check audio output mode and mute state first. Where the fault is hardware, we repair on site or in workshop.
What Usually Causes This Problem
Most cases trace back to one of the following root causes. Our technicians diagnose with a diagnostic kit and the right diagnostic tools on every callout.
Audio mode set to external speaker
TV is set to output audio via HDMI ARC or optical — but no soundbar is connected. Quick to reset.
Mute or zero volume
Always worth checking — remote handover can leave mute active.
Failed internal speaker
Internal TV speakers occasionally fail. We replace where economical or recommend a soundbar.
Audio amplifier IC failure
The internal amplifier chip can fail. We diagnose with workshop tools.
HDMI audio handshake fault
Sound works on some inputs but not others — usually HDMI ARC negotiation.
Soundbar configuration
If you have a connected soundbar, the issue may be in the soundbar settings or input mode.
