TV Picture Problems
Picture problems cover a huge range of faults — vertical or horizontal lines, ghost images, washed-out colours, sections of the screen going dark, jelly-like motion, weird shadows, or random pixelation. Almost all of them are repairable, and almost none of them require a full panel swap.
These faults trace back to one of three places: the T-CON board, the panel-driver ICs, or the LVDS cable that connects them to the mainboard. Once we identify which, the repair is usually straightforward and same-day.
Picture Faults We Diagnose
Almost every picture issue traces back to one of these — and most are board-level repairs, not panel swaps.
Vertical or horizontal lines
T-CON board or panel-driver IC fault. We diagnose with a pattern generator before quoting.
Ghost images / double vision
Signal-processing or panel-driver issue. Often a T-CON repair sorts it.
Washed-out or pink/green tint
Panel-driver IC. Sometimes a settings reset clears it; sometimes a board-level repair is needed.
Half-dark screen
Backlight strip failure on LED TVs. Diagnosed by holding a torch close to the dark area.
Jelly-like motion or smearing
Capacitor or driver fault on the panel-driver or T-CON board.
Random pixelation or blocks
Mainboard processing or HDCP/HDMI issue. Diagnosis confirms before any work.
